Happy Mind
It’s a great phrase isn’t it? When you think about it, you get an overall sense of wellbeing. A happy mind results in a happy life. We all want a happy mind and let’s face it, this can only be realised by achieving mental and physical wellbeing.
Your Mind
The human brain is a powerful asset that drives our body, as well as our consciousness. We perform normal bodily functions like blinking our eyes, seemingly without even thinking about them. Such functions are a result of our brain sending out messages to the rest of the body and instructing it to act. The human MIND is equally powerful – the realm of thought, feeling, attitude, belief and imagination. It is responsible for happiness, excitement, stress, phobias and anxiety. Your conscious, unconscious and subconscious mind, all together are responsible for your health and happiness, your wellness and wellbeing.
My own philosophy of how to achieve a Happy Mind begins from a very simple viewpoint. There is a lot of confusion about what exactly is the difference between mental health and mental illness. The two are often used interchangeably and this leads to confusion, fear, stigma and suffering. Before I do anything else, I want to clear up this confusion. Let’s start with distinguishing between the two.
