8 Wise Ways to Summer Self Care – Part 2

In this week’s blog we are carrying on with our summer of self-care ideas.  Using the summer months to relax and recuperate from what the year has thrown at you so far will set you up positively for the remainder of the year.

I’ve said it once and I’ll say it again, To Live the 8 Wise Way for a Healthier Happier Mind all year round, a consistent self- care routine is important. So here are more 8 Wise Ways to summer Self Care tips:

  1. Redecorate a room.

Or move the furniture around to ring the changes. Changing your environment can help you reconnect with it and use it in a different way, leaving it feeling like a completely new and fresh space, motivating you to use if differently and more often. #environmentalwellness

  1. Start reading a new book.

Find some quiet time to yourself each day to read. Keep a list of books you’d like to read handy, perhaps on your phone, so that when you’re looking for new book ideas you can easily refer to your list. #intellectualwellness

  1. Re-visit your daily routine.

Think about your daily routine and habits, what you could do to help yourself be happier, healthier and more productive. Maybe you could change your morning routine or evening routine to help you get more from your days. #intellectualwellness

  1. Go for a picnic or eat a meal outside.

This will depend on the weather but if it’s warm enough, enjoy eating al fresco! Fresh air, nature, vitamin D.  A great way to feel good and make memories. #environmentalwellness

  1. Let the air and light in

Throw open the curtains and windows as much as possible – Let in the light and the fresh air.  When you can’t get out into nature do what you can to bring it in. It has soothing qualities that can help you feel calmer and more relaxed, plus for those who work from home it can help keep your brain thinking clearly. #environmentalwellness #intellectualwellness #physicalwellness #emotionalwellness

  1. Limit your screen time.

Enjoy the real world around you instead of the virtual, filtered one on your phone.  Loo up and experience the moment as it happens rather than through the camera of your phone. Help your memories stay alive and fresh in your mind by experiencing them rather than watching them back. #intellectualwellness #physicalwellness #spiritualwellness

  1. Enjoy your summer holiday.

Your summer holiday doesn’t have to be going away somewhere, staycations are just as good as vacations.  Find local attractions to try out, become an adventurer in your local area. Plan lots of day trips seeing and doing new things. Stretch your comfort zone away from the traditional beach / pool holiday. #environmentalwellness #intellectualwellness #physicalwellness #emotionalwellness

  1. Take up a new hobby.

Try an evening class, an online course or just something you can learn from your own home. Grow your mind! #intellectualwellness #emotionalwellness

Consistency is key when it comes to developing optimal mental health and wellbeing, but it’s also important to try and test new things, so you can find the activities, tools and routines and that work for you.
